Okay
So inside your mind you have uh
Two Parts
The conscious and the unconscious
Within the unconscious self there is the personal unconscious
Things that...
Unconscious processes that are running that are personal to you
And there are... there's the collective unconscious
Which is like common human experience
Um
The truest self that you interact with is called the ego
It's like the part of your mind that you use on a daily basis
It's like your inner thoughts, your feelings
Um
And when you're with other people
You display a kind of false self known as the persona
It's not truly who you are,
It's just like a kind of fake mask you put on when you're Interacting with people and everyone has one
And a lot of people never truly display who they really are to Anyone else other than their persona
And often time the persona is tailored to fit like expected societal-
*laughing*
What?
"What? I was just looking at the ceiling and I saw funny stuff"
Okay
And
Um
Everyone has this thing called the shadow
"A shadow?"
Yeah a shadow
"Like the hedgehog?"
No
"My shadows right there"
The shadow is unconscious traits of your being
That you're not aware of but that outwardly display themselves
"That guy?"
It's kind of the darker part of ourselves
That we dont usually recognize on a daily basis
If that makes sense
"I gotta sneeze"
So Carl Jung believes that life's true purpose
Is to understand and dissect every single part of our own psyche To finally understand who we really are
"What are you talking about?"

A needle in the hay
A thing that cant be found
Myself is something id never thought I'd stop bringing around
I used to know what to say
I used to know what to do
Now I find myself wordless in front of you
The right way to be is something that neither you nor I could know
After all
Were all just for show
After all were all just waiting to go
To be
The way we’d rather be
The be that no one sees
The you that no one knows
Though All of you
You’re all here
And together is something you can only find with others
So when you get home I'll hold you
And your broken shape
When you get home I'll care to be your being place
But the difference 'between you and me is you’ve still got room to grow
So much longer to go
You’ve still got people to know
I have no more seeds to sow
My plot is full of holes
My body knows it most
From my head to my toes
I’ve got wounds still left to close
In my room where no one goes
My floor is full of clothes
My closets full of bones
And the me that no one knows
Is gone

Burn
04:26
|
|||
When you found me on the back porch looking at the trees
While the wind stole my cigarette and the wind stole your breeze
You sat down and packed one
And handed it to me
When you met me at the coffee shop you were looking out the window
While I payed six dollars for a bad cappucino
We burn our lungs
And we burn our tongues
And we burn out ourselves
Until we're done
When I was in your room and you were in my room
And you were in my bed and you looked to me and said
You never wanted this to end
But the time passed by and I can't remember it at all
And we don't talk anymore, no, you never answer my calls
And even the ache in my chest has dissolved
We burn our lungs
And we burn our tongues
And we burn out ourselves
Until we're done
We burn our friends
And we burn the ends of the ones
We saved for later

Coins
03:16
|
|||
When you're walking home
And you're out of smoke
Where can you go but that place where you go
Where the only thing left are the dishes in the sink
Where all there is to do is lay down and drink
Too many faces and too many names
Too many places and too much change
Not the coins in the cup holder but the shirts with the stains
Nothing here will stay the same
Nothing changes the same
No one changes away

No Matter How Bitter
04:58
|
|||
No matter how long you pull
Time makes itself old
No matter how hard the sell
Time makes itself sold
And you are the bidder no matter how bitter
The sweet never gets old
You will chase it with it
You will pace it until it catches up to you
You will chase it until it matches up with you
No matter how much you can tell
They've been telling you this for a long time
But your clock is too slow to tell why
Your body is too low to get by
Your body is too low low to get high
No matter how long you pull
Time makes itself cold
And you make yourself spent
For twenty dollars and no sense
Every chance you get
Every chance you get
All the time you spent

Not A Game Anymore
05:04
|
|||
Breaking my back in the same place
Drunk from the vodka in the drawer
Once it starts it doesn't stop
Until I've settled for less than the score
It's not even a game anymore
It's not even a game anymore

Why Don't I
03:54
|
|||
I need to drink more water
I need to get gas
I need to finish that essay for my English class
So why don't I
When I know I could
So tell me
Why don't I
Do the things I should

Fill/Spill
03:34
|
|||
When all you live for is to fill
All you can do is get full
When all you live for is to be full
All there is to do is spill
So pour yourself out
And turn yourself in
Water yourself with your own everything
It's not worth the feeling
Or the things that come with
So pour yourself out
And turn yourself in
